My buddy Wayne @skyhawkadventures9374 and I have been wanting to land here all summer and we finally found the day to do it. Selkirk Grass Strip (CJA2) just East of Port Dover and just North of Peacock Point on the Lake Erie shore. Luckily it was Friday the 12th and not the 13th otherwise the airspace around Port Dover would have been closed. My first approach was for runway 26 but as I learned, a giant tree basically blocks the approach. I learned from super friendly Kristie, who came out to greet me when I parked ( a bit close to her chicken coup, Sorry...), that the tree is on her 95 year old Mother In Law's property so removing it wasn't an option since she really likes it. I swung around for a required right downwind to land on 08 (wind was just a few knots from the South so landing from either direction was fine). The video picks me up about to turn right base. Approach went well. As I was rounding out for a soft landing a nice hump in the strip came up to meet me and I landed a bit firm and early with some rudder still in... That pushed me a couple feet to the left leaving not much room between me and the weeds on the rollout... I was able to park under in the shade under a nice tree and after Wayne arrived in his 172 we went into nearby Selkirk for lunch. Wayne will have a full video of the trip on his site in the next week or so. This was definitely the shortest, narrowest strip I've been into. Always fun to be challenged, but please don't attempt landings in places like this with a "regular plane" without picking a perfect day and first gaining experience with easier strips.
