Driving in Germany: Autobahn A96, A995 & Bundesstraße B2R München South Ring

In this video you can drive along on Autobahn A96, the B2R Munich Ring (South) and Autobahn A995 in Germany. Munich, Germany's 3rd largest city, is very well connected to the Autobahn network.

All Autobahns with numbering in the 90ies are in Bavaria and generally connected to the Munich metropolitan area one way or another. In previous videos I already featured the A92, A99, A96 and A94.

In this particular video we are following Munich's Southern Ring, which is not fully Autobahn profile like in the North. The Northern half is completely covered by the A99. In the South this is not the case, where you need to drive on the B2R for a short while before you get back on the Autobahn. Therefore navigation systems usually always recommend driving via the A99 North in order to bypass the city if you are coming from the direction of Stuttgart for instance.

The B2R is an extension of the B2 Bundesstraße where the 'R' stands for Ring. It's the inner ring road of Munich, although I am not sure if the A99 in the South of Munich will ever be completed. The A995 is a typical short Autobahn extension that carries traffic to a bigger Autobahn, in this case A99/A8. While on the B2R we also pass the junction with the A95, which runs South into the Alps near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I hope to feature that Autobahn sometime in the future as well.
