The Machines Have Already Won (And It's Good News For Songwriters!)

The machines have already won when it comes to AI and music- and it's a good thing if you are a songwriter! I spent a couple weeks exploring some AI music generating apps and found that a songwriter like me who is not a very good singer and has a modest home studio no longer needs to pay lots of money to go to a pro studio and hire a producer, engineer and singer to make a high-quality studio recording of one of my original songs to release to the world,

Out of all the ones I have explored so far, Suno is the best option. Not only does it generate new AI songs from text prompts, but you can upload your own demo, no matter how bad the recording is, and it will generate a high-quality "cover". In fact, it will generate so many versions that sound great, that it's hard to choose which one you like best.

Suno's cover feature takes all the aspects of your original composition and lyrics and adds flavor and small nuances like a good producer would. You don't always get exactly what you want, but you will usually end up with a handful of great options to choose from. You can also make edits right there in the app or download isolated stems to make it more personalized. This is a game-changer for songwriters looking for a way to get their music heard without breaking the bank or having to work with other people, which can be frustrating or hard to find the right people with the same style and goals.

It seems like the worse the song recording or even song itself is, the better Suno makes it sound. That said, I am including one of my terrible home recordings along with the Suno version that I chose in this video so you can hear for yourself how amazing this tool can be.
