In this video we show that central, spherically symmetric force fields are conservative!
-Just one subtlety in case anyone is interested, in the video we prove that the curl for such fields are 0 'everywhere'. You may notice the existence of singularities though since we have denominators of 1/rsintheta for appearing in our equation for curl, aka at the poles and orgin! Good on you for being skeptical, if you explore further it turns out the curl can indeed be indeterminate at the origin for these central fields, but this is not an issue in physics problems. Sometimes this can create a little tiff in defining the potential energy functions: for instance you'll notice this immediately also appearing in the gravitational potential energy function if you plug in 0 for r... divide by zero error. Neat, huh?
