Roger Daltrey CBE, founding member of The Who and multi-generational cultural icon, was honoured with the 25th Music Industry Trusts Award (MITS). This prestigious annual music award is presented to Roger in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the music and entertainment industry and many charitable causes.
The Award was presented to Roger Daltrey by Jeremy Clarkson on Monday 7 November at a gala ceremony, hosted by Jo Whiley at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Tributes included performances from Tom Chaplin, The Shires, and the Wilko Johnson band with Roger himself on vocals.
Previous MITS Award recipients Sir Tom Jones OBE, Sir Michael Parkinson CBE, Harvey Goldsmith CBE also attended the evening.
The MITS Award raises funds in aid of Nordoff Robbins [link to website http://www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk/] and the BRIT Trust [link http://www.brittrust.co.uk/].
