Hi Love Buggies,

My love for fashion has always existed. My mom would make my clothes as well as her own. She made her own patterns, knew how to sew, do embroidery, and even knit. It’s where BellaGemaNails first began.

My world opened up as I explored my own fashion journey through time. From dressing only vintage and thrift to full out Halloween costumes and bodysuits with ridiculously large statement hats.

I’m bold with my fashion choices. Fashion is fun and completely personalized. It can be whatever you want it to be at any given time. I don’t believe in fashion rules, do what you want with your wardrobe.

I don’t believe fashion is only designer, nor do I believe that all designer is fashion.

I chose to do double lips because she talks too much and one ear because she doesn’t listen enough. My DIYs projects take on a whole character in my head. If this bag were a person, she'd be a chain smoker with a fancy cigarette case and cigarette holder. Her nails, ruby red, just like her lips. She would have a penchant for extra dry martinis at noon, with a single olive. She would wear a floor-length satin robe with Art Deco feather heels. She'd listen to Nancy Sinatra on her record player, as it would remind her of a cheating ex. Her name, Mildred Louise.

A few things fun facts about me:

I love anatomy from a silhouette to a face and eyes. I like art pieces that depict mouths, hands, and a woman’s figure in all shapes and sizes.

I adore handbags with any kind of face on it whether it be cartoonesque or surrealist.

I love primary rainbow colors and anything specifically in that combination.

I adore monsters! I’ll be doing a What’s in my Bag video, where you’ll see the bag I’m carrying at the moment. It’s a topic of conversation in itself.

I like things I like to call “uglycute.”

Schiaparelli, my all-time favorite fashion house, captured my heart and mind during design school. When describing Schiaparelli, the first things that come to mind are innovation and imagination, as the brand celebrated anatomy long before it became popular in fashion pieces. Schiaparelli seamlessly merges surrealism with wearable art pieces, placing them at the top of my list for the avant-garde category.
