Red Avalokiteshvara (Skt: Rakta Lokeshvara, Tib: Chenrezig Marpo) is a principal deity of the Anuttarayoga Tantra in Tibetan Buddhism. His radiant red body shines like the rising sun, symbolizing the ultimate compassion and wisdom of the "Magnetizing Activity" (Pema family), which draws sentient beings into liberation by dissolving their afflictions with blazing red light.
The Heart Mantra of Red Avalokiteshvara, associated with the form known as “Rakta Lokeshvara, the Ocean of Supreme Compassion,” embodies the Bodhisattva’s vast and ocean-like vow of boundless compassion.
Chanting this mantra is believed to:
Purify karmic obscurations of the past, present, and future
Eliminate karmic diseases, demonic interferences, and imbalances of heat and cold
Relieve depression and mental suffering
Bring swift worldly success and magnetizing power
In tantric scriptures, this mantra is praised as the "King of Magnetizing Activities," enabling practitioners to swiftly attain worldly mastery, favorable conditions, and abundance in food, clothing, and resources — all under the protection of Dharma guardians.
