Why WWE Gave Up on Karrion Kross... Again

WWE gave up on Karrion Kross twice in four years. The company signed him, pushed him, and then walked away. Kross looked like the complete package in NXT with Scarlett by his side, winning the NXT championship in dominant fashion. But his disastrous Raw debut against Jeff Hardy in 2021, the ridiculous gladiator presentation, and a lack of main roster momentum led to his first release.

Triple H brought him back in 2022 with his full entrance restored, and it looked like he was set for a huge push. But his feud with Drew McIntyre fell flat, the Final Testament stable bombed, and even a new “Devil’s Advocate” character couldn’t save him. By the time he lost to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam 2025, it was clear the hype was gone. WWE decided he just wasn’t good enough, and let him go all over again.
