With the help of the SINUA software and the sostenuto function, you can pulse tones or chords. Two values can be set. Firstly the tempo and secondly the duration of the sound. If you gradually shorten the duration of the sound, you will eventually reach a point at which the pipes no longer respond regularly; there are dropouts in what is actually a constant rhythm. The resulting irregular rhythm then seems to be generated by a random generator.
