In this video we're going to compare some of the most popular business development companies and determine which one might be best for investors looking for current high income. Anyone who likes higher-yielding investments will tell you that BDCs are really a cornerstone kind of investment for those who want high cash flow payments from their investment portfolios. BDCs invest in small and medium-sized businesses, either issuing them financing or acquiring equity in a company. And then they're legally required to pay 90% of their earnings to their shareholders in the form of dividends. By doing this they avoid having to pay taxes, which is obviously pretty appealing. So we'll be looking at a group of BDCs and all of the most important metrics for these companies to determine which is best.
