Vaal River yellowfish and nymphing go hand-in-hand. Here Yaqoob Tarmohammed AKA JoziFly explains how to tie the two yellowfish nymphs that make up his go-to tandem rig for the Vaal River and its tributaries.

The Et's Pinky is a blowtorch point fly that serves as a bright attractor pattern. Behind that, the purple crush Pheasant Tail Nymph (PTN) serves as a more natural looking variant. Fishing this duo one way or another is bound to result in successful hookups with many yellowfish, and other insectivorous species.

ET'S PINKY MATERIALS:
Hook: Mouche 6438 #16.
Weight: 3.5mm dark pink tungsten bead.
Thread: Veevus G.S.P. 50 denier, black.
Tail: Pink floss.
Body: Hairline Ice Dub UV black.
Collar: Black CDC

PURPLE CRUSH PTN MATERIALS:
Hook: Mouche 6438 #16.
Weight: 3.5mm gold slotted tungsten bead.
Thread: Veevus G.S.P. 50 denier, orange and black
Tail: CDL fibres.
Body: Olive pheasant tail.
Collar: Natural CDC and Purple crush extra fine ice dubbing
