Is Nikon Slowly and Tactically Overtaking Canon?

Is Nikon now the camera company with more up rise and potential? Seems Canon is going in a very different direction with super high resolution 8k cinema cams, and clinical sharpness with RF lenses. Nikon bought RED and are going for a more cinematic look, and have a lot of modern lenses with vintage character. This might be Nikon's time to shine.
