On July 7, 2016, a peaceful protest in downtown Dallas turned deadly when a shooter unconnected to the rally opened fire, targeting police officers. Five officers died and nine officers and two civilians were injured. Police killed the gunman, Micah Johnson, by detonating a bomb in the room at El Centro College where he was hiding.
This short documentary tells the story of the Dallas Morning News journalists who were on the scene during the shooting or at the hospitals where the injured officers were taken.
