Luas Green Line Trams are getting bigger!

You told us peak-time trams were busy, we listened and we are working to improve the service we provide. 26 Luas Green Line trams are getting bigger. Luas ordered 52 new tram sections to extend 26 trams. Each of the 26 trams is being extended by 11.1m with these 2 new sections. This extra space will allow each extended tram to carry 30% more people. Shane Ross, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport launched the first extended tram on Mon 14th Oct at Sandyford Depot. This first extended tram is is carrying passengers now on the Green Line now and 25 more will be extended by the end of 2020.
