WWE's King of the Ring tournament is making a return to our screens. Originating in the '80s as house shows to boost attendance, King of the Ring grew into a blockbuster PPV by 1993, standing alongside the big 5 PPVs: Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series. Despite a hiatus starting in 2003, King of the Ring has returned on occassion, pushing some superstars to the top and leaving others with a generic gimmick.
