On this plein air painting adventure, I set out with my easel to explore two very different scenes, a quiet park where a centuries-old statue stood watch, and a breathtaking riverside view at golden hour.
Painting on location gave me the chance to capture not only the shapes and colours before me, but also the feeling of the moment, the crisp air, shifting light, and the gentle hum of life in the background. Each brushstroke was guided by the atmosphere and the fleeting changes in light.
Back in the studio, I added small refinements to both works, careful to preserve the freshness and spontaneity that make plein air painting so special. The result is two original watercolour and gouache pieces, each telling a different story from the same inspiring city.
