Rudi Rumstajn (performer, guitarist & singer) was born in 1965 in Pula, Yugoslavia/Croatia, into a family of showmen and circus performers. He came to Cologne on November 11, 1985, where he first settled permanently. He has collaborated for many years with the Markus Reinhardt Ensemble and with Jan Krauthäuser (HUMBA e.V.). Since 2015, he has worked at "Rheinflanke" as a social worker and boxing coach. He lives in Cologne.

Kölner Zigeunernacht (Gypsy Night of Cologne)
The Rhineland boasts an astonishing diversity of Sinti, Roma, and Zigeuner "Gypsy" cultures. This includes both long-established musical families and artists who have immigrated from Eastern and Southern Europe. We want to preserve and promote this richness, also because this musical and festival culture can play an important role in a peaceful, sustainable society. The participating artists use the old cultural term Zigeuner "Gypsy" with pride and want to strengthen its positive side.
