Fallout New Vegas in 2025? First-Time Gameplay, 4K Game Intro & Season 2 Series References

First time ever playing Fallout New Vegas — in 2025, on the old Xbox 360, and I’m doing it in Ukraine, under real air raid sirens and a real death threat. It feels surreal: 2010 nostalgia mixed with the real survival mode outside the screen.

Sometimes I wonder where I was all this time, that I somehow passed this game by. But then again — everything has its moment.

Playing Fallout: New Vegas now, living through what feels like the real-life prologue of Fallout, the words “war never changes” strike with a weight I couldn’t have understood as a teenager just running around blowing heads off for fun.

Now the game feels deeper, more relevant than ever—like its themes echo straight into our present. Add to that the “real” survival mode effects outside the window (no need for 4DX, nature already took care of it), and it all blurs into a strangely immersive experience.

Even after 15 years, the 2010 vibes pull you straight in. The only thing I still can’t stand? The awkward weapon menu. Because of it, I failed more than once and didn’t make it to Mr. House yet. But trust me — I will.
