The True Story Behind GoldenEye (1995)

GoldenEye (1995) follows James Bond as he investigates the theft of a powerful satellite weapon known as GoldenEye. The story begins with a daring mission in Soviet Russia, where Bond's fellow agent Alec Trevelyan is seemingly killed. Years later, Bond discovers that Trevelyan has resurfaced as the villainous head of a crime syndicate, Janus, and is using the GoldenEye weapon to launch a cyberattack against London. Bond teams up with computer programmer Natalya Simonova to stop Trevelyan's plan, leading to a final showdown in a satellite control station. The film blends Cold War tensions, betrayal, and high-tech espionage, marking Pierce Brosnan’s debut as 007.
