Catching nice Walleye Below the Tippy Dam on the Manistee River in Northern Michigan the bite was very slow so I started to see the fishermen use Egg flies and Spawn Bags and then the Winter Walleye bite was on and even I hook on to a couple of Nice Walleye but was not able to land them no clean no Walleye on the frying Ban this year I will try it again Next year from my luck of fishing for cold winter walleye they are hitting or the bite is not on at all so you have to get lucky on the day you fish You might be hooking into Steelhead and not see a walleye and then you might Catch Walleye and not see a Steelhead Caught so you have to get on the bite and the Walleye bite is always slow in the winter time on the rivers in Michigan Black flies and egg flies will work well and if you hook into a walleye ever hour this is a hot day on the water for Walleye these fish come up in the fall time and slow build up until spring time and the season closes down around Mid march so you need to catch these walleye in the Late Winter time Good luck with the Cold weather and slow Bite but it is one of the only ways to catch nice walleye before they go back into the Great Lakes you can taste the Walleye in the iron Skillet with butter will you are landing them in the next Hot Dam
