The UK formally signed a treaty to join the CPTPP, a major Indo-Pacific bloc. It is the biggest trade deal since the UK left the European Union in early 2020. This is a very important agreement for the UK as the CPTPP will cut tariffs for UK exports to Asia Pacific countries. In addition, the trading bloc with UK membership would have a combined GDP of £12 trillion and a 15% share of global trade.
