It goes a little something like this:
1. Substrate - It starts with a mix of pellets made from waste: Oak, Sunflower & Straw makes an excellent substrate for mycelium to thrive on 📈
2. Seeding - this is when you introduce your mushroom spawn (the live mycelium culture) 💉 Laboratory crunch time - Super sterile conditions are crucial for minimising evil bacteria 🦠
3. Colonisation - Incubating your inoculated substrate in a warm dark place, approx 2-6 weeks, to create a solid white web of mycelium 🕸
4. Fruiting - The substrate sits fruiting in steamy conditions, ready to leap into the world & onto your plate 🍽
