If you've been seeing my FB over the last few months, you've probably noticed that my life has had some heartbreak. This past weekend has helped me kick that sadness in the butt!
This seminar was supposed to be focused around Rad (with a little a bit of Bee training). With this being my first "Agility Event" since losing Rad, It was hard at times to realize that I can no longer run Agility with him. But I can honestly say that this weekend I laughed and smiled and felt more happiness than I have in a long time. SO many things & people contributed to this.... The "boys", my friends, the environment and my special freckle face girlie.
I reached out to friends, Dave Munnings & Dan Shaw (From England) last year and asked them to come teach a seminar as I was really wanting to continue my personal education & growth in Agility. I knew they would bring something different and would give me some great idea's to build into my training. I also knew they were fun..... but I had NO idea that we would connect like we did. A weekend that was supposed to be about training Rad and focusing on Agility turned into a whole weekend of recovery and growth.
Bee-Line had to step up to the plate and boy did she surprise me! She picked up new skills so quickly and I felt a whole new bond grow between us. Gosh, I love that little dog. I can't wait for our journey!
I want to thank both Dave and Dan for sharing their knowledge & passion for the sport. They worked their butts off for us and brought a level of energy I rarely see from Instructors. We are a tight family here at McCann's and I can speak for all of us when I say that these boys have kicked our passion for the sport up a notch!
I really- really appreciated the opportunity to be a student this weekend and to allow myself to just sit back and learn. I had so much fun both making mistakes and celebrating progress. I also LOVED experiencing the seminar with my friends & students. The positive vibe all weekend was so contagious.
The time spent with D&D between the seminar days was quite possibly my favorite time.....not to take away from Agility lol... but I feel like I've made friends for life! The amount of inside jokes we created in 3 days is almost unbelievable.
My heart is so full - I'm so grateful to the boys, to this crazy sport of Dog Agility and to the McCann Clan for helping me get back to myself. I had happy tears at the end of the seminar - lol - I'm turning into a suck!
I hope you enjoy our Seminar Highlight Reel!
