Chiefs’ concentrated touchless soaps are designed to be used at high dilution rates—typically around 2% soap—so a small volume of product goes a long way. Touchless soaps can be applied via a high-pressure downstream chemical injector—which is perfect for easily switching between soaps and specialist cleaners—or by pouring neat soap into the bottle of a foaming lance like the Suttner ST-73. The hardware does the work for you; there’s no mixing or dilution required—no potential for waste.
Soaps should be foamed onto a cool, dry vehicle at high pressure and allowed to dwell for just a minute or two. There’s no need to scrub or broom. Soap is then power washed off with high pressure using either cold or hot water.
The power washing should be done by starting at the bottom of the vehicle with horizontal back-and-forth sweeps, moving upward toward the top of the vehicle. Hold that thought and stay with us here. On trucks and trailers, vertical sweeps can be used, moving backward along the vehicle. Now, here’s the kicker: we are not rinsing; we’re washing.
The high-pressure water is doing the work of manual scrubbing without the hard yakka, extra time, and potential for scratching and swirling. By blasting the water into fresh, dense soap—rather than immediately letting it all rinse off from the top—the chemical and high-pressure water work together to lift road grime and contaminants. A quick final rinse from top to bottom will remove all soap residue.
