HAPPY BEAR KNOCKS IT OUT OF THE PARK

Belle sure knows how to play ball!
The tub is Belle's Happy Place. On many days, she will just come to zen and chill-out in the tub. But on this particular day, she was fully immersed in play, and completely committed to the toys. She pulled some moves on this day that I had never seen a bear do before! Made me smile from the inside out. And dang, every time that 1:42 second mark rolls around, I laugh SO hard. Doesn't matter how many times I see it. This girl is good medicine. I hope she cures what ails you, too.
We have been losing a few of these bear-toys lately. You'll see precisely how that can happen at the end of this video. In her total glee, Belle sent that red ball flying down the steep mountainside. Then she went flying down after the ball, too, batting it even further down the hill. We couldn't find the ball for a week, but now that more foliage is starting to fall, we were able to spot this ball not toooooo far away. We're still missing the other blue ball that Miss Sadie sent flying down the hill earlier. Maybe we'll be able to find that it later on this winter? I sure hope so! (And maybe I need to post Sadie's video, too?) These zoo-animal-grade, extremely durable toys ain't cheap, and the bears clearly love them. I'd like to have that blue ball back up here and waiting along with the rest of the toys for the bears' return next spring. The more the merrier, right?

btw, Belle is a subject in a local research project, "The Asheville Urban Bear Study." That's a radio collar she's wearing. It helps the researchers track her in the field. The ear tags, are also from her time in the study.
