Even well worn, the Monarch 10ee is a superior machine. This 70yr old manufacturing model has been in continuous service for 70yrs, starting at Bendix Aircraft Division New Jersey, then moving to High Energy Weapons Hanford, and to Pacific Northwest National laboratory.
I have used the lathe for over 20yrs since it was sold by the lab only because factory new parts were unavailable, not because of wear on the machine.
The 10 ee is the lathe all others are compared to for good reason, you will find no Shaublin babble from me, you have to go to the underachievers forum for that garbage.
This old lathe still has the feel of a precision instrument, every movement effortless, and it was the most basic, least costly model of the time.
