Welcome to one of the newest National Parks! We're exploring the wilder West Side of Pinnacles National Park to take on one of its most adventurous trails: the Balconies Cave Loop.

This isn't your average hike—it's a journey through a dark, boulder-filled gorge known as a talus cave. Get ready to scramble over massive rocks, duck under low ceilings, and navigate complete darkness!

We started at the Chaparral Trailhead and chose the loop that takes us through the Balconies Cave and then returns along the stunning Balconies Cliffs Trail. It's the perfect mix of subterranean exploration and epic views of Machete Ridge!
