Chris Taylor and Freddie Freeman added RBI singles, while the Rockies struggled offensively, striking out 169 times in 2025, the most in the NL, with Michael Toglia leading MLB with 29 strikeouts. The Rockies also committed 15 errors, second-worst in MLB, contributing to their 3-14 record and league-low 43 runs scored. Elsewhere, the Arizona Diamondbacks topped the Miami Marlins 10-4, with Corbin Carroll and Geraldo Perdomo driving the offense, while Merrill Kelly struck out nine. The Oakland A’s crushed the Chicago White Sox 12-3, led by Tyler Soderstrom’s league-leading seventh and eighth homers. The Cincinnati Reds overcame the Seattle Mariners 8-4, with Austin Hays debuting strongly, and the Boston Red Sox edged the Tampa Bay Rays 7-4, powered by Alex Bregman’s 5-for-5 night. The Chicago Cubs narrowly beat the San Diego Padres 2-1 in extra innings, and the New York Yankees topped the Kansas City Royals 4-2, with Jasson Domínguez’s 3 run double. The Colorado Rockies’ persistent struggles, underscored by their 291-433 record since 2020 and high fan attendance despite poor performance, raise questions about ownership’s commitment, but forcing a sale or move seems unlikely given MLB’s reluctance to intervene in franchise operations; rebuilding through better player development and strategic spending is a more feasible fix.📝
