Easiest way to set a fence post (power washer and shop vac)

This is an easy way to set a fence post with a power wash and shop vac.

Using and auger can damage pipes, sprinklers, cable lines, and many other things. By using a power washer it prevents drilling through and cutting with a shovel or auger. It even works really well in places with big rocks and stones. In the event your have a bunch of stones or big rocks when you hit one, you have to back the drill out pull the stone if its loose enough. With a power washer you just power wash around the stone until its loose and reach down in and pull it out. Another advantage is when your up close to a house or in a corner (tight spot) you might not be able to get in there with a trailer auger or even the two person one, and surely not a tractor. No shovel needed.

After you get your hole you set your pole stake your strings and use a level to get pole where you want it. Then with the concrete dry
pour it in around your pole a few inches above level with the ground. After that you can use the pressure washer to mix the concrete. Just plunge it in the concrete a few times till its a little thinner than oatmeal. The dirt will absorb the extra moisture. Now just double check your level and placement of the pole. Height is not that important if you plan on cutting the tops of the poles off after the fence is finished.

Following this procedure will minimize concrete usage and actually bury a 10 foot pole to 3 feet very easily.

One more advantage of using a pressure washer is removing fence post. Just pressure wash around the concrete and you can lift the old post out not problem.

Another advantage to using the pressure washer is if you have removed a 4 x 4 fence post that was set in concrete that is rotted. you can power wash through the small hole in the concrete instead of busting it out. Shop vac the dirt out then pour the concrete in power wash it to mix it then drop the pole in and use the level to get her straight.
