LWT, so to speak, was an ITV franchise that operated solely from Fridays to weekends, born from a merger between franchises that operated on those days. It was the counterpart to Thames from its inception and later became part of Cartlon from 1993 until its closure.
Following several identity changes by Carlton, Granada, and ITV itself, LWT ceased to exist in 2002. Its studios, inherited from one of its predecessors, remained in operation until they closed in 2018.
