Marvelous Designer / CLO 3D Tutorial: Fundamentals Ep.1

If you are a 3D artist you probably felt very confused when you first opened Marvelous Designer, just like me.

From a 3D artist perspective, that program is bizarre and relates to a world that for most of us is not very familiar: the fashion industry.

We all see this amazing works on characters but when we open MD we are like "¿¿¿?????"...
Most tutorials you will find will teach you the basics of the program and how to do a jacket, pants, shirt, etc.
But to me, that is like showing blender, then how to add a cube and right after that model a face, without ever mentioning quads, edge flow, normals, etc.
If you go the other way, you can find some fashion advice, but sometimes it can be hard to relate it to 3D, and that is where I come handy:
After working as a 3D artist in a fashion company, I have already banged my head to make this two worlds, fashion and 3D, collide so all I will do is teach what I have picked up: basically some fashion for 3D artists.

This is the first video where I teach some very basic fundamentals of fashion and patternmaking so that in the next videos I don't have to cover too much. This is basically to put ourselves in a different mindset.
