Embu Town is the administrative and commercial center of Embu County, located about 120 km northeast of Nairobi on the southeastern slopes of Mount Kenya. It enjoys a cool climate and fertile soils that support agriculture, especially coffee, tea, and macadamia farming.
The town is a growing hub for trade, education, and government services, hosting institutions like the University of Embu and Embu Level 5 Hospital. Culturally, it’s home to the Embu people, known for their hospitality and farming traditions.
