This miniature steam turbine demonstrates the conversion of energy from a methylated spirits flame to steam, driving a turbine that drives a small dynamo which powers a lamp post with a few LEDs.
Notice how the turbine speed changes as the electrical load is turned on and off. This happens because, as the electrical circuit is made, current flows through the dynamo, increasing its mechanical resistance due to electromagnetism in the coils inside the dynamo.
The steam turbine is of the impulse-type, i.e. the steam turbine works by the steam jet hitting an array of small "buckets" on the rim of the turbine wheel (hidden). Maximum speed is likely around 7-8000 RPM.
Impulse steam turbines are not generally used in large steam power plants; instead multi-stage reaction-type turbines are normally used. However, reaction-type turbines consume a lot of steam, and impulse turbines like this can run on a very thin jet of steam, meaning that it can run from a small boiler, making it perfect for miniature model use.
