Der international als Kiel Canal bekannte Nord-Ostsee-Kanal verbindet Nordsee und Ostsee und zählt zu den meistbefahrenen künstlichen Wasserstraßen der Welt. Auf der rund 98,6 Kilometer langen Verbindung zwischen Brunsbüttel und Kiel-Holtenau passieren täglich zahlreiche Schiffe den Kanal.

Der Livestream befindet sich direkt am Standort von Sartori & Berger und zeigt den Schiffsverkehr rund um die Uhr in hoher Bildqualität. Zu sehen sind Containerschiffe, Frachter, Tanker, Kreuzfahrtschiffe sowie weitere Fahrzeuge der internationalen Seeschifffahrt.

Die Schleusenanlage Brunsbüttel besteht aus zwei Schleusen mit jeweils zwei Kammern und wird aktuell um eine zusätzliche Schleuse erweitert. Der Kameraschwenk erfasst neben den Schleusen auch die Hochbrücke Brunsbüttel, ein markantes Bauwerk mit rund 2,8 Kilometern Länge und einer Durchfahrtshöhe von etwa 42 Metern.
Der Livestream dokumentiert das Zusammenspiel von moderner Ingenieurskunst, Wasserstandsregulierung und internationalem Schiffsverkehr in Echtzeit.

Internationally known as the Kiel Canal, the Nord-Ostsee-Kanal connects the North Sea and the Baltic Sea and is one of the busiest artificial waterways in the world. Along the 98.6-kilometre route between Brunsbüttel and Kiel-Holtenau, numerous vessels pass through the canal every day.

The livestream is located directly at the site of Sartori & Berger and provides continuous real-time views of international ship traffic. Visible are container ships, cargo vessels, tankers, cruise ships and other maritime traffic.

The Brunsbüttel lock system consists of two locks with two chambers each and is currently being expanded by an additional lock. The camera pan also captures the Brunsbüttel high bridge, a landmark structure spanning around 2.8 kilometres with a clearance height of approximately 42 metres.
