I drove my Jeep up a remote desert ridge near Eagle Mountain, Utah, and hiked deeper into the mountains to spend a solo night above the valley.
The weather was calm at first, but everything changed at sunrise — a storm rolled in fast, and I had to pack up and get out before it hit the ridge.
A simple overnight turned into something much more intense.
