MG RX-0 Full Armor Unicorn Gundam Ver.Ka - Timelapse Build (Bandai Namco - Gunpla)

The king of the plastic bombs has arrived...

This was a kit that caught my eye when I was first looking in to gunpla and has stuck in my mind ever since. I finally ordered it in December, only for there to be a massive delay when I discovered that this one didn't come with waterslide decals. After waiting about a month for those to arrive I finally got to work, only to realize that I was in for quite the struggle.

This is a pretty sizable kit for the price. The mech, plus 3 shields, 6 vulcans, 4 ammo belts, 2 rocket pods, 2 bazookas, 2 rifles, 2 rockets, a back rack, 2 halberds, and a transport vehicle, all come together in a single box. The build itself isn't too bad either, and I was able to knock the whole thing out fairly quickly despite some delays.

And then I got to the decals. Three pretty sizable sheets and a metric crapload of decals to apply. This took me probably even longer than the actual build did, and it was a major pain to get done. Topcoating wasn't much easier either. The worst part was the final assembly, which took me close to an hour and a half to finally complete.

This kit is one of those kits that you really just need to never touch again. Does it look cool? Absolutely, and I am happy that I have one on my shelf. But I will do absolutely anything to never have to touch this thing ever again. It's one of those kits that you get into a good pose and then just enjoy looking at rather than playing with.

But with that out of the way, I can move on to some (hopefully) more enjoyable builds. Next up is a kit that I have built before, but with a new twist. I hope you enjoy it as much as I hope I will, and I'll see you next time.
