Fixing discontinued Skylights with FIBERGLASS, "You gotta do, what you gotta do" 👍🔨🙂

My brother asked me to help him w/ the skylights on his house, they were cracking from sun damage and leaking inside the house.
I did a lot of research and found out that they were no longer available and was told that they would have to make molds, then vacuum form new ones.
The price was very expensive.
My brother was quoted about $5,000.00 to replace the whole assemblies.

I also considered making a vacuum forming table, but it would take quite a while, not to mention how expensive it would be.
I felt bad that I could not help my brother...
My brother told me he was planning on putting epoxy over them and I told him to let me know when he was planning to do it.

When I went to his place and saw how many cracks they had, I told him that if I was In his shoes, that I would cover them w/ fiberglass resin n cloth.
He said let's do that, we went to home depo and got some supplies, went home and started to work on them.

To make sure the resin stock to the skylights we sanded them down w/ coarse sand paper, (I think it was 220)
After letting them dry up, we sand them down again the sprayed two coats of UV protection clear.

The final result came out great and they were much stronger than before.
The light also shine just fine inside the house.
