Hmong ghost story, “Long ago, there was a Hmong couple who asked to borrow a rice field to farm. The owner gave them an old, abandoned field that had not been used for many years. In the fifth month, they began working the field and stayed overnight there.
One night, the husband went home, leaving the wife and their two young children sleeping in the field shelter. As darkness fell, the woman saw a group of people carrying a dead body, crying as they walked. She quietly looked out to see them.
Suddenly, the corpse they were carrying lifted its head and stared straight at her, its eyes wide open and pale white. Terror overwhelmed the woman and the children, causing them to lose their spirits in fear.
