THE PIECE

Bach's last cello suite is heard on the marimba with the same depth and elegance with which the cello shines in these passages.

The Allemande seems predestined to show how melodic lines can also be drawn on the marimba as a percussive instrument, which are in no way inferior to a string instrument.

GRZEGORZ CHWALIŃSKI

Grzegorz Chwaliński is a Polish multi-percussionist who impresses with his extraordinary musical expressiveness as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician on stages all over the world.

Even at a young age, his work is marked by numerous international competition successes. In 2015, Grzegorz Chwaliński was a first and second prize winner at the "Italy Percussion Competition" in Montesilvano, Italy. In 2016, he was a first and second prize winner at the "International Percussion Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia". In 2017, this was followed by a Grand Prix win at the 1st National Percussion Competition of the Artistic Education Center Kielce in Poland. In 2018 he received the prestigious artistic scholarship "Young Poland" from the Polish Minister of Culture. In 2019 he achieved the 3rd prize at the "Majaoja International Percussion Competition" in Finland.

In 2021 he was selected as a soloist for the "World Percussion Group". Furthermore, he has been a newcomer artist of "Kolberg Percussion" since 2021.
