While in Freycinet National Park, we had the pleasure to walk to one of Tasmania’s most celebrated views; the crystal-clear turquoise water and curvaceous white beach of Wineglass Bay. It’s a short and steep walk with many stairs to climb but the track is well signed and maintained. The track took us up through coastal woodland and past ancient granite boulders to the lookout.
At the lookout, there’s a very nicely constructed platform to view the postcard perfect wineglass bay. We were very fortunate on the day we went. The weather was perfect and the sky was clear. The view of the wineglass shape that we saw at the lookout was simply breathtaking.
The distance of the walk is approximately 3km (return) from the Wineglass Bay walking tracks car park. It is graded as a Grade 3 walk (some bushwalking experience recommended for steep grades and rough steps).
