Solo Hiking the 4 Springs Trail to Gotthard Pass – Swiss Alps Adventure

Come along on a challenging solo hiking adventure through the 4 Springs Trail in Switzerland! 🏔️ This trek follows the first two stages of the trail but on my own schedule—pushing beyond Etappe 1, crossing a mountain pass before ending the day in worsening weather. My plan was to camp under the stars, but thick fog and rain forced me to take shelter in an abandoned hut, a hidden refuge in the Swiss Alps. ⛺🌫️

This is silent hiking at its best—just the raw beauty of the mountains, the sound of footsteps on rocky trails, and the ever-changing Alpine weather. 🌬️ As I make my way toward the Gotthard Pass, the conditions become unpredictable, leading to an early exit from the trail.

🌍 Route Overview:

Day 1: Start at Oberalp Pass, pushing past Vermigelhütte and over a mountain pass before stopping for the night.
Day 2: Continuing toward Gotthard Pass, but forced to end early due to bad weather.
