OMCI – the ONU Management and Control Interface, is a protocol which provides a standard way for the OLT to discover ONU capabilities and to manage and control them. It is used in all the ITU PON technologies, from GPON to NG-PON2.
This video provides an introduction to OMCI and explains its main functionalities, along with examples of how it is used.
