Perth Family Road Trip – March 2025

Once again, we embarked on a journey to Australia! Initially, our plan was to visit Brisbane, but unfortunately, the state was hit by a cyclone—the first in 50 years—forcing us to change our itinerary. To be honest, we didn’t expect to be back in Perth so soon! You might be wondering why we keep returning—haha. Well, for starters, it’s the shortest flight from Singapore compared to other Australian states. Plus, my wife absolutely loves it there!

For me, the highlight is always Margaret River. It’s a place of pure peace and beauty, where I truly feel disconnected from the hectic world and immersed in a slower, more tranquil pace of life. The people are always so friendly and kind, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

This trip was a bit of a whirlwind. We had very little time to plan, and I was quite flustered dealing with last-minute changes to flights and accommodation. As a result, much of our itinerary was based on previous planning. This time, we focused on visiting places we had missed on our last trip due to time constraints. However, some of these places didn’t quite meet our expectations. We don’t want to sugarcoat things—no place is perfect, but every city makes the best of what it has to offer. That said, the only real disappointment was Perth Zoo. While my video might make it look fun, in reality, we didn’t quite enjoy it—haha.

This year, we wanted to squeeze in more trips since our eldest daughter will be starting primary school next year. That means we’ll only be able to travel during peak periods. More importantly, we wanted to create beautiful memories for our children. We always try to make our travels educational—learning about nature and animals, which Australia offers in abundance. And let’s not forget the amazing number of playgrounds! It’s the perfect place for our kids to build their confidence. In the video, you’ll see them exploring independently—we try not to intervene too much, allowing them to discover things on their own.
