EP 17: HARS IS BACK! After Covid shut us down for nearly six months, the HARS Aviation Museum at Albion Park, NSW, Australia, is back in business and welcoming visitors once again, including our YouTube Channel.
It's an exciting time. In a mighty burst of flame & smoke, our Lockheed Super Constellation dramatically fired up its mighty engines for the first time in months in preparation to take back to the air at the upcoming Wings Over Illawarra air show. Our Connie is the only one still flying in the entire world!
And great news too with our flying replica of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith's Fokker 'Southern Cross' turning over its rebuilt engines for the first time in nearly 20 years. It shouldn't be much longer until all three engines are firing and the rebuilt aircraft, substantially damaged in South Australia back in 2002, takes back to the air. Located only 100 kms south of Sydney in the beautiful Southern Illawarra, the HARS Aviation Museum is home to over 50 historical civilian and military aircraft, many still operational. Open every day, except Christmas.
