Popular Perth band Mark IV (not to be confused with many overseas bands with the same name) had just one single release to their name, but that one single became a double sided hit in their hometown, with both sides reaching #10. This heavy reworking of "It's For You" on the B side of "Groove With What You’ve Got" had been written by Lennon & McCartney for Cilla Black in 1964 as a follow up to her #1 smash hit "You're My World". However it would seem this is the first time Mark IV's version has been posted to Youtube.
Band membership had often fluctuated during the time they were together from 1966-1971. Among members by this time was Kevin Smith (ex-The Cherokees, D-Coys). In 1969 Mark IV had won the local heats of Battle of the Sounds & moved to Sydney where they came 2nd to The Affair (with Kerrie Biddell) in the National Heats. While there they recorded this one & only single which was released in September 1969, hence it's appearance on Spin records, and produced by the great Pat Aulton rather than Martin Clark's Perth label Clarion which most of the local bands signed to. The band continued for another year or so but by 1971 it was all over
