The Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) — the body representing government doctors — has intensified its ongoing protest over 10 long-pending demands, including pay parity, promotions, cadre restructuring, and more. As part of the agitation, doctors have been shutting down Outpatient Department (OPD) services from 9 am to 11 am every day at government hospitals across the state starting today, meaning patients are not being seen in OPDs during these two hours. This protest comes after earlier one-hour daily shutdowns did not bring a breakthrough with the government.
