During prolonged power outages, the UNICEF mobile team in Shostka became a true source of support for children and parents. Instead of darkness and cold, families found a space where they could play, connect, share their experiences, and receive professional assistance.
The team includes psychologists, social workers, and legal professionals who conduct play-based and therapeutic activities, helping children manage fear and navigate their emotions. Parents learn how to support their children even during the most difficult days.
Here, children make new friends and feel safe, while parents find stability and understanding.
Mobile teams in the Sumy region are supported with funding from the European Union and the United States Government, as part of a UNICEF programme to provide comprehensive social protection services in remote areas in the region.
