How the grey rock method works with a

Whatever the narcissist is saying is irrelevant - always keep in mind that they're purposely saying whatever they're saying to get an emotional reaction out of you.

Let's talk about what grey rocking is, why it might not seem to work at first, and why it does, in fact, work!

🪨Grey rocking is when you take on the personality of a grey rock.

😶Boring, dull, no substance, no emotional reaction, just going into null mode. The point of it is to take away supply from the narcissist.

Supply is your emotional reaction, attention, energy, resources, whatever it is the narc wants from you.

They love to see you run around like a headless chicken trying to fix a problem you didn't create.

So when you become aware of this and stop giving them supply, they'll eventually lose interest in getting supply from you and leave you alone.

😵‍💫But what if it doesn't work?

When you take supply away, remember that supply is something the narc feels entitled to.

They're probably going to put up a fight to get back what they think belongs to them.

So they might try harder to trigger you!

❌This doesn't mean grey rock doesn't work, it means they're not letting your supply go without a fight.

They might even love bomb you to regain your trust.

🪤It's always a trap!

The key is to stick to your guns and continue grey rocking when they escalate.

(Disclaimer: If they get physically violent or threaten to, get yourself to safety and get authorities involved.)

As you keep grey rocking they'll source supply from elsewhere.

You'll probably get discarded by then, which is the goal!

If having a rational conversation with a narcissist worked, this tool wouldn't have to exist.

Another bonus when you grey rock: you'll have way more energy to put into other more important things in your life when you stop allocating that energy engaging in circular conversations with the narcissist 😉
