Wildcat Wednesday with the ATR guys, KTM's, my lone YZ250X and a Gila Monster

Wildcat Wednesday club ride and we ran across a miniature dinosaur, a Gila Monster. I've been lucky enough to run across quite a few of them while others have been here for decades and have not seen one. I think we rode something like 40 miles through the Desert Vista section of Wildcat, the part where the trails are named with signs. It's back to dry and dusty but such is desert life. Running a softer bib mousse up front with a fresh-ish knobby is the key for traction but the trade off is it feels a little wallowy at times and strange in the rocks. We have a cold front and clouds moving in so maybe we will get a chance to ride the desert after a rain again before the heat of summer starts.
