Vivekananda Rock Memorial is a popular tourist monument in Vavathurai, Kanyakumari, India. The memorial stands on one of two rocks located about 500 meters east off mainland of Vavathurai, India's southernmost tip. It was built in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda who is said to have attained enlightenment on the rock.[1] According to local legends, it was on this rock that Goddess Kumari performed austerity. A meditation hall (Dhyana Mandapam) is also attached to the memorial for visitors to meditate. The design of the mandapa incorporates different styles of temple architecture from all over India. It houses a statue of Vivekananda, made by renowned sculptor Shri N L Sonavadekar of Sir J. J. School of Arts, Bombay. The rocks are surrounded by the Laccadive Sea. (Source - Wikipedia)

Known to be the southern most tip of the Indian Sub Continent and where the Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea converges. What a sight to see and truly a wonderful experience. The ride to the Vivekananda Memorial was an experience by itself and when perched on top of the Vivekananda Memorial Rock it was truly blissful. The view from the Rock amidst the gusty winds and the tranquility all round is a sight to behold. The Sangam where all the 3 Oceans merge and where you can see different colours of the Oceans viz. Green, Blue and Dark Grey is a sight to watch.

The Sunrise from the East and the Sun Set on the West within a short span of 2 kms is a rare phenomenon. The mingling crowds and the energy that exudes in this place is amazing.
